Elon vs. Donald - what could go wrong?

There is so much being written and opined on for this topic that I can’t add much to it…except that I don’t think Elon will win this one, and it won’t be pretty. The quickest summation is the clip from Game of Thrones: “Power is power.” Yes, the president isn’t supposed to use the substantial resources at his disposal to ruin a person’s life, but Donald Trump is the president, and that is what he’s going to do. No one has stopped him yet, and people who should have a spine and brain should be able to say “no”, but they don’t. So expect to see financial penalties, increased regulatory scrutiny, and aid to Musk’s competitors/enemies. Trump is likely getting advice from Putin on how to deal with pesky oligarchs as well, in case Trump isn’t sure how to proceed.

The biggest joke is the hope/concern that Musk has something on Trump and will try to win some kind of PR battle with him. Let’s get serious here: there is nothing that can humiliate or derail Trump’s political career. He doesn’t care, and neither do his supporters.

This is one battle in which mutual destruction is my preference, but sadly Trump does have more weapons on hand.
