Starting Somewhere
The “somewhere” in this case referring to “how do I start this blog”? Here goes…
When I decided to wind down Migrations.ml, it wasn’t a very difficult decision to make. I loved running a start-up, and we were still working on enhancing the product. But with dwindling resources, and over five years on the clock, it was time to let it go. Obviously I wish that Migrations.ml had me and all the stakeholders wealthy, but I still have no regrets about creating a startup. The thesis of using machine learning to make credit analysis and portfolio management more efficient and effective occupied 90% of my mind in 2018. It didn’t feel like a chore spending nights and weekends on a business plan and everything else necessary to get the company off the ground. I gave it my best, and if I hadn’t tried it, when I eventually retire I would have a lot of regret.
